VESSEL DESIGNWORKS

Vessel Designworks is a custom woodworking shop and design firm. We have a deep respect for the material, how it moves, works with spaces, and warms our moods and rooms. We work with residential and commercial spaces and complete projects of all sizes.

Founded in 2010, our business has recently rebranded to better represent what we really love to do.

WHY VESSEL?

vessels are the conduits that transport water and sap from the roots of a tree to its leaves.

Meet ACE

Hey, I’m Amanda Crisp Marley, and my friends call me Ace.

I am a mom of two boys, a designer, and a woodworker. My dad and I bonded over building things and refurbishing furniture and antiques from a young age.

I have been in business for 13 years, and have really honed in on the woodworking piece for the last 12. I would often be working with a residential or commercial design client and sketch an idea that didn’t exist yet, so I would build it.

While my business started in Virginia, venturing to the Triad of North Carolina offered the same kind of small-town charm with new opportunities. My shop was once part coworking space in the heart of Summerfield, NC where people collaborated and shared ideas. You may have seen it.

I was proud to be the only place for folks in Summerfield to work outside of the house. As my woodworking business grew, I had to take more of the studio space for new equipment and BIG furniture pieces. My coworking friends still come by and sometimes use the studio for photography.

I am creative by nature and very independent. Don’t let my small stature fool you. I can tackle the biggest of projects from custom LEGO® cabinets to full coffee shops downtown (Check out Northern Roots on Elm St.), resin-filled wood tables, and complete built-in bars.

Helping make dreams come to life through thoughtful design and collaboration is my jam. I’m always striving to find the perfect balance between function and beauty. I’m delighted and inspired by the patterns of the natural world.

Happiest when we are together in the mountains or by the sea.
